About Doug Lyman

Owner Doug Lyman is a proud, 3rd-generation Boise resident. The second of five Lyman siblings, Doug’s “home improvement” career began at age 12 with the whimsical design and construction of a two-story tree house in his backyard. Think Swiss Family Robinson…complete with hatch doors, rope ladder and stained glass windows!

Leveraging his early passion for all things mechanical, Doug segued into a career as a high-tech engineer in the aerospace, military electronics and telecommunications industries, building a broad range of advanced skill sets. Doug held the positions of Engineering Manager, ASIC Designer, Software Programmer, Quality Analyst and Electronics Technician at industry-leading companies such as Nokia, Litton Data Systems, and TRW Space and Defense, among others, before retuning to his passion for home improvement in 2006.

Compass is a bonded/licensed construction company, and an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm. Doug has also completed the EPA curriculum for Lead Training at Oregon State University.

The Lyman siblings are well known throughout the Treasure Valley for their expertise in electrical, plumbing, pool construction, roofing and property management.

Doug lives in Eagle with his wife Muriel, two sons, Kevin and David, and pooch Cookie. In his spare time Doug enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, computers and restoring his 1947 Jeep.
